Returning Sen. Gary Stecks said SGA members have learned to work together and have had friendly debates while locked away in their meetings. As the semester closes, he said they have developed a diversity project, hosted a Halloween Bash and planned of a revamp of the student lounge and bookstore. Stecks said, “We did good, but we haven’t reached our full potential.” Many kinks were worked out, and next semester should be even better, he added.
SGA does have multiple meetings a week, along with additional projects, but one of the new senators Daniel Russell said he still has a life outside of SGA. Some senators are studentathletes so their practice schedules are accommodated.
Many members believe the biggest improvement the group needs in the upcoming spring semester is better public relations to involve more of the student body in the activities planned.
